VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Helen E. Chamberlain, 88, went to be with her Lord Nov. 14, 2011. She was born in Jonesport, daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Lucy A. Alley.
She was a member of Haygood United Methodist Church, Aragona Village Civic League, Elizabeth Fairbank Circle and United Methodist Women.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thaddey M. Chamberlain. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Ann Hitchings of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Thaddey L. Chamberlain and wife, Darlene, of Pennsylvania and Clayton Chamberlain of Pennsylvania; sister, Mabelle Chapin of Idaho; very special friend, Sue Aten of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Terry, Susan, Heidi, Jeanie, Kathy, Kristine and Teddy; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Haygood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Shumate officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Chamberlain’s name to Haygood UMC Food Pantry or a charity of ones’ choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
