BANGOR, Maine — An intoxicated local man riding in a cab Friday night apparently tried to grab the cab’s radio handset and assaulted the female driver, Bangor police Lt. Tim Reid said Saturday.
Richard Hewes, 53, was charged with assault after the incident was reported to police at around 8:55 p.m.
“He hit the cab driver, elbowed her and took the mic,” Reid said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
