LAMOINE – Barbara G. Stratton, 73, passed away Nov. 20, 2011, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born July 8, 1938, in Springfield, Mass., daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Osborn) Griffin.
Barbara owned and operated Cardinal Restaurant, Hancock, from 1958 to 1993, was a cook at Hancock Grammar School from 1973 to 1987 and Lamoine Grammar School from 1993 to 2007. She was known as “Cookie.” She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. Barbara was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Steven D. Stratton and wife, Kelly K.; daughters, Terri L. Stratton and significant other, Stephen H. Anderson, and Kellie A. Stratton and significant other, Andy H. Haslam; three grandchildren, Elisha A. McKinley, Joshua D. Stratton and Dani K. Fenlason; and brother, William Griffin. She was predeceased by her son, Roger; and husband, Milton. The family thanks Bill Nicholson, Lois Levensworth, Doreen Boynton, Betty Anderson, the Haslam family, Meals on Wheels, Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and Courtland Rehabilitation for supporting our mother.
