CAMDEN – Agnes Mary Beloin, 95, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Windward Gardens, Camden. Born Sept. 2, 1916, in Bridgeport, Conn., she was the daughter of Frederick Scherer and Emilie (Eugster) Scherer, and was a graduate of Bridgeport High School.

She married Norman J. Beloin, in 1941, in Camden. Mrs. Beloin was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Camden, where she was an active member of the women’s club. She was a past president of Camden Garden Club and was a current member of Maine Innkeepers Association. At age 90, Mrs. Beloin was honored with the Innkeepers Special Award recognizing her more than 60 years as an innkeeper at Beloin’s on the Maine Coast, her family business in Camden. Mrs. Beloin loved her family, cooking, flowers and traveling. Agnes was an intrepid world traveler. She had many adventures including a trip around the world, trips to the Orient and Europe, a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and many ocean cruises. She often traveled with her family or friends, but one memorable time was her trip to Europe alone on crutches with her bag slung over her shoulder. She enjoyed people and spent many years greeting guests at her family resort, Beloin’s on the Maine Coast. Many of them became lifelong friends.

Surviving are her four children, Norman J. Beloin Jr. and his wife, Elinor, of North Billerica, Mass., Mary A. Beloin of Joliet, Ill., Fred J. Beloin and his wife, Jeanne, of Camden, and Anne E. Amerman and her husband, Mark, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; five grandchildren, Janet Bowen and her husband, Kevin, of Westford, Mass., Robert Beloin and his wife, Sopor, of Methuen, Mass., Kristin Blanchard and her husband, Josh, of Daphne, Ala., Jennifer Proly and her husband, Ryan, of Tampa, Fla., and Alex Beloin of Camden; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman J. Beloin Sr., in 1971.

Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. The funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Camden, with the Rev. Mark Reinhardt officiating. Burial will after at Oak Hill Cemetery, Camden.
