BANGOR – Clover A. Chiarell, 88, died Nov. 27, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Webster, Mass., daughter of John D. and Violet R. (White) Tripp.

Clover met James R. Chiarell at Dow Air Force Base, Bangor, and they were married in 1941. They traveled to many locations while James was in the Air Force to include bases in Illinois, Maine, Texas and Utah. Clover was a certified nursing technician at Eastern Maine Medical Center for more than 20 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and liked to travel to warmer climates. Clover was a member of Hampden and Bangor Senior Citizens, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, and Italian American Club. She was a very loving and caring wife and mother.

Clover is survived by her husband of 60 years, James R. Chiarell; three sons, James R. Chiarell and his wife, Rose, of Carmel, John M. Chiarell of Carmel, and Jerald P. Chiarell and his wife, Julie, of Whitefield; one daughter, Jacqueline V. Chiarell of Milford; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, John P. Tripp of Brewer; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Claroy Tripp, Cyril E. Tripp and Calvin E. Tripp; and two sisters, Clematis M. Albert and Cynthia Culpits. The family thanks the Maine Veterans Home staff for the loving and dedicated care they provided to Clover.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
