SHIRLEY – David Lee Turner, 64, died Nov. 27, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1947, in Greenville, son of Lee and Shirley (Perry) Turner.
David graduated from Greenville High School, class of 1966. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and later served in Vietnam. David lived for most of his life in Shirley.
He was an avid sports fan and followed the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by a son, Joshua David Turner of Florida; two brothers, Albert Turner and Daniel Turner, both of Shirley; a sister, Gail Downie of Sangerville; nieces and nephews, Sarah Foster of Westbrook, Joseph Turner of Shirley and Alissa Downie of Sangerville; many cousins and friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Shirley Cemetery. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford. For an online guest register, go to
