DEXTER – Lucien Joseph Dube, 91, died Nov. 30, 2011, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born May 8, 1920, in Notre Dame du Lac, Quebec, son of Felix and Ida (Potvin) Dube.
Later in his career, he was a supervisor at Dexter Woolen Mills, and retired from Cianbro Corp., Pittsfield, in 1982. Lucien was as lifelong communicant of St. Anne’s Church, Dexter, and was a 50-year member of Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for immaculately maintaining the lawn around his home, which his son faithfully continued. Lucien was also an avid gardener.
He is survived by a son and his wife, Ted and Judy Dube; daughter and husband, Betty and Jim Laferriere; brother, Gerald Dube, all of Dexter; son-in-law, Galen McKenney of Corinna; six grandchildren, Kathy and husband, Mike Mossey, Rick and wife, Leslie McKenney, Annette Dellaire, Rob and wife, Patty Laferriere, David and wife, Briseida Dube, and Paul and wife, Amy Dube; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley and Justin Dellaire, Justin Mossey, Brad and Eliza McKenney, Lucien and Owen Dube; several nieces and nephews. Lucien was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Charlene (Braley) Dube; daughter, Barbara McKenney; brothers, Larry, Albert and Gilbert; sister, Jeanette; and sister-in-law, Irene Dube.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at St. Anne’s Church, Free Street, Dexter, with the Rev. Kent Ouellette officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
