CARMEL – Earl E. Bowers, 86, died unexpectedly Dec. 4, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 29, 1925, in Easton, son of Vaughn and Ruby (Bowers) MacDonald.
Earl was educated in Easton schools and a graduate of Easton High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a sergeant in the Army from 1950 until 1956. For several years, Earl worked as a mechanic and then he went into farming and owned and operated a dairy farm in Carmel for many years. He was married to Jacqueline (Thomas) Bowers, who predeceased him in 2001. Earl loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by two sons, Earlyn and Jane Bowers of Carmel, and Clayton Bowers of Carmel; one daughter, Gailene and Harry Swett of Carmel; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
