MILLINOCKET – Donna M. McInnis, 66, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at a local health care facility. Donna was born May 24, 1945, in Waterbury, Conn., daughter of Maynard and Blanche (Willette) Pelkey.
She moved to Millinocket when she was an infant. She attended school in Norcross, attending a one-room school until she reached high school, graduating from Stearns High School, class of 1964. Two years later she married the love of her life, Ron McInnis. They resided in Millinocket from that point on. Raising their two children, caring for her husband, and loving her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren was her full-time job that she loved. Camping with her family and friends was another favorite thing she loved to do. Donna enjoyed playing cards and playing bingo, and if there was a way to bet a quarter she did it. She was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 1521 and Emblem Club.
Donna is survived by her husband, Ron; two children: son, Ron McInnis Jr. and wife, Cheley, and daughter, Cathy Levesque; grandchildren, Seth, Justin and Kayla McInnis, Stephanie and Angela Levesque; great-grandchildren, Madison McInnis, Riley O’Clair and Leah Levesque; sisters, Cassie Foote and husband, Tom, and Marlene Spearrin and husband, Rick; brother, Maynard Pelkey and wife, Trish; a special aunt, Aldea Gallant; many nieces and nephews who were all very special to her, and special family and many special friends with whom she was very close.
Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a memorial service will be conducted 6:30 p.m. by the officers and members of Elks Lodge No. 1521. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Dec. 13 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Martin of Tours, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with Deacon Danny Watson, presider.
