AUBURN, Wash. – Charles Andrew Nelson, 59, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, in Auburn, Wash. He was born May 11, 1952, in Caribou, son of the late Bertel R. and Margaret A. (Mattson) Nelson of New Sweden.
Charlie is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou Nelson of New Sweden, Shirley Nelson and husband, Brian Wakefield, and their son, Golga P. Sakar, of Anchorage, Alaska, Trish and Allen and their daughter, Hazel Anika of Anchorage, Alaska; many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends and family may call 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at New Sweden Baptist Church, New Sweden, where a memorial service will begin 5 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Hearn officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at New Sweden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to Aroostook Brigade, Inc., 231 Station Road, New Sweden, ME 04762.
