EASTPORT – Carolyn Clark (Spear) Speck, 88, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Maine General Medical Center, Waterville. Carolyn was born April 16, 1923, in Eastport, daughter of the late Raye and Hazel (Shaw) Spear.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Magi Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Charles Speck; and three children, Sharon (Sparkman) Beadoin, Arthur Sparkman III and Marcia (Eldred) Inkster. Surviving are her daughter, Diana (Sparkman) Pelletier; her sister, Rae DiMauro; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Mays Funeral Home – Flagg Chapel, 72 High St., Eastport. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church, 21 Key St., Eastport. Burial will be afterward at Hillside Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at
