SEARSPORT – Sadie B. Ward, 96, died peacefully Dec. 14, 2011, with her family by her side at a Belfast hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Knox, the daughter of Fred and Estella (Howes) Bailey.
She was a long time member of Searsport Full Gospel Church.
Sadie is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Connor and her husband, Kenneth, of Frankfort, Marie Curtis of Prospect, Phyllis Greenleaf of Brooks, Theresa Connor, Marilyn Littlefield, both of Searsport, Ethel Greenleaf and her husband, David, of Montville and Hazel Harvey and her husband, Leon, of Frankfort; her sons, Kenneth Ward of Searsport and Douglas Ward and his wife, Cathy, of Searsport; daughters-in-law, Carolyn Ward of Swanville and Winnifred Ward of Belfast; 60 grandchildren, 143 great-grandchildren, 95 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Clifton E. Ward; sons, George Ward and Clifton Ward Jr.; and son-in-law, Reginald Greenleaf.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Searsport Full Gospel Church, Main Street, Searsport. Visitation for family and friends will be held 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Swanville. Donations may be made in Sadie’s memory to Searsport Full Gospel Church, Main Street, Searsport.
