WATERBORO, Maine — Two out-of-state men are under arrest after sheriff’s deputies reportedly seized 16 pounds of processed marijuana, 25 pot plants and $60,000 worth of growing equipment from a home in southern Maine.
The York County Sheriff’s Department says it investigated a home in Waterboro on Thursday after neighbors complained of a strange odor coming from the house.
The Portland Press Herald reported that 25-year-old Graham Chitouras of Lexington, Mass., and 26-year-old David Rosen of Ashway, R.I., each were charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and are being held on $10,000 bail.
Sheriff Maurice Ouellette said the suspects have no ties to Maine other than using the house as an indoor marijuana-growing operation.
