HUDSON, Maine — An Orrington woman suffered minor injuries Christmas morning when her 2003 Chrysler sedan went off Darling Road, struck and broke a utility pole.

Eleane Sullivan, 76, was unable to negotiate the 90 degree turn the road makes just after Hudson Hill Road, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Pelletier said.

The single-car accident was reported about 10:15 a.m., he said.

Sullivan was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center complaining of a knee injury. She also suffered minor abrasions and contusions, the deputy said.

The road was covered with a dusting of snow, and Sullivan may have been traveling too fast for the conditions, he said.

The car was demolished in the accident.

  1. No comments about Granny being a speed demon? Shocking!
I’m glad Sullivan is going to be ok. Best wishes to her.
