CLINTON – Julie (Bell) Swett, passed away peacefully Dec. 28, 2011, at Maine General Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and longtime friends. She was born July 2, 1956, in Corinna, to Ruth and Ronald Bell.
Julie attended Nokomis High School and Mid-State College, where she earned an associate degree in business. She was a dedicated employee of Kmart for 17 years and Sheridan Construction Co., Fairfield, for 23 years. Julie was an accomplished gardener and could be found outside tending to her beautiful flower gardens with her faithful four-legged companion, Willy or sewing amazing quilts and wall hangings in the sun-room in the winter time with her little four-legged friend, Zoe. She inspired us all with her beautiful smile, grace, dignity and her positive attitude toward life.
Julie is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Rodney; son, Tyler; daughter, Megan and her husband, Ryan Reed; brothers, Todd, and Ross and his wife, Julie Bell; niece, Kathrine Bell-Carpine; and nephew, Evan Bell. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Kevin and Jay; and uncle, Rod. The family thanks the many special people that have stood by the family’s side, the Clinton and Albion card groups for all the laughter they brought her, as well as the special people at Sheridan Corp., whose kindness through the years touched our hearts. A very special thank you to Anita, Phil, Regina and Ronnie, and family members for their help and support.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Methodist church in Clinton. Burial will be in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in her memory may do so by making checks payable to MGH Cancer Center (in memo: Sarcoma Fund) and send to Donna Silva, Massachusetts General Hospital, Yawkey 7A, 50 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
