EAST MILLINOCKET – M. Lillian Turcotte, 79, wife of the late Raymond W. Turcotte, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Carrabasset,
daughter of Arthur W. and Margaret A. (Stevens) Lightbody.
Lillian was a longtime communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, East Millinocket, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and taught CCD classes for many years. Although she hated sports most of her life, in later years Lillian became a member of Red Sox Nation and was a die-hard fan.
She also enjoyed watching golf. Lillian raised seven children, and devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to her large family.
Lillian is survived by seven children, Debbie Phinney and her husband, David, of Lee, Cheryl Rogers of East Millinocket, Billy Turcotte and his wife, Judy, of Indiana, Pa., Dennis Turcotte of Milan, N.H., Terry Turcotte and his wife, Shelly, of East Millinocket, Kathy Turcotte of East Millinocket and Joe Turcotte and his wife, Terri, of Medway; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Bearor of New Hampshire; two sisters-in-law, Doris Thomas of Littleton, Colo., and Betty Lightbody of North Anson; a brother-in-law, Stan Forbus of Embden; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will also be missed by special friends, Alice Weed and Mavis Dickinson. In addition to her husband, Lillian was predeceased by five siblings, Ainslie Lightbody, Walter Lightbody, Allen Lightbody, Mary Berry and Sadie Forbus; and three grandchildren, Erica Turcotte, Derek Turcotte and Dustin Turcotte.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7 p.m. by the officers and members of St. Ann’s Circle, Daughters of Isabella. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket.
