WALPOLE, Mass. – Vernon W. Coffin, 88, a native of Howland, died Dec. 27, 2011. He was son of the late George and Winifred Coffin. He was a 20-year U.S. Army retiree of World War II and Korea.
He was husband of the late Elizabeth (Nering); father of Ruth Ann Dearing and her husband, Donald, of Abington Mass.; grandfather of Jeffrey, Lisa, Timothy, Courtney and Casey Dearing; brother of Alan Coffin of Wakefield, Mass., and the late Helen Gerald, Pauline Keeler and Grace Hawkins; and an uncle of many.
