State police in Hancock County are investigating who is responsible for four stolen vehicles found on a rural woods road Saturday.
The vehicles — a 2002 Subaru Legacy, a 1998 Ford Mustang, a 2005 Ford Ranger and a 2011 John Deere Gator 4×4 — were reported stolen between Nov. 28 and Dec. 31. Game Warden Scott Osgood discovered the vehicles on Dynamite Brook Road, a remote woods road in Township 10 east of Franklin.
Maine State Police were investigating the scene on Saturday, according to a press release distributed by state police’s Troop J in Ellsworth. No other information was available Saturday on where the vehicles were stolen from or possible suspects in the case.

Good job, Warden. Too bad that manpower restrictions don’t allow for the vehicles to be left in place and covert surveillance set up to grab the thieves that stashed them there.
