ROCKWOOD – Katharyn “Kitty” J. Munster, 90, died Jan. 1, 2012, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Greenville, daughter of James and Dorothy (Ramsey) Richards.
She and her husband, “Boy” started Munster’s Tackle Shop, Rockwood, in 1963, and she became well known far and wide for her “fly tying.” Kitty loved NASCAR, University of Maine hockey, and walking. Her interests also included working with oils, decorative painting and crocheting.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane E. Morenko of Coventry, R.I., and Karen Folsom and her husband, Bill, of Rockwood; daughter-in-law, Diane Munster of Florida; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis “Boy” Munster; brother, James; and son, Lewis.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal, at the Masonic Building, Pritham Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Richard Malo, celebrant.
