HOLDEN, Maine — A Franklin woman who walked out of an Irving gas station without paying for a pint of Haagen-Dazs ice cream and a bottle of Advil on Saturday evening got as far as Ellsworth before she was caught, Holden police Sgt. Gene Fizell said Monday.

Kerilyn Button, 28, left the store around 6 p.m. and was stopped by an officer from the Ellsworth Police Department about 40 minutes later, the sergeant said.

“She had started to eat the ice cream and spent the weekend in jail because she was out on bail” when arrested, Fizell said. “She admitted that she did take the ice cream.”

Button was brought back to Penobscot County and charged with theft and violating her bail conditions, the sergeant said. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail and released at court on Monday, Fizell said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

  1. did they miss the jar of pickles in the other pocket?…She’s pregnant….ice cream & pickles

  2. Can’t believe she admitted it. When are criminals going to learn they have the right to silence. She should’ve just stuffed her mouth with icecream!

  3. She may not be as stupid as we all think.  She just scored free room and board, health care, and all the t.v. she can stand!

  4. Mr. Haagen & Mr. Dazs would be very angry with her. Smooth move Ex-Lax….that’s gonna end up being the most expensive ice cream she has ever tasted!!!!! Must have been a severe BRAIN FREEZE
