FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Clyde L. Drew, 78, former longtime resident of West Boxford, Mass., and Lynn, Mass., died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Helen A. (Heffernan) Drew, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. A resident of Framingham, Mass., for the past six years, he was born in Houlton, son of the late Clyde L. Drew Sr. and Gladys (Knowles) Drew.

Mr. Drew was a mechanical engineer for 44 years at the Medium Steam Turbine Division and Aircraft Engine Division at General Electric Corp., Lynn, Mass. He was a graduate of the GE Apprentice Program in 1955, received his associate degree from Lowell Institute of MIT in 1955, and was a member of GE Apprentice Alumni Association, serving as president for two years. Mr. Drew was a formerly active member of St. Pius V, Lynn, Mass., serving on the Parish Council and Boy Scouts and was a former member of AMVETS Post, Lynn, Mass. He enjoyed woodworking, was a car enthusiast, and traveled the country with his wife and family. Mr. Drew was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later served in the Army Reserves.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Marie Drew and her husband, Robert Hamilton, of Framingham, Mass., Carol Drew and her husband, Jeffrey Verra, of Seffner, Fla., and their children, Theodore and Sophie Verra, and Lorraine McNally and her husband, Christopher McNally, of Natick, Mass., and their children, Chiara and Kerry McNally; two sisters, Doris Herre of Harrisburg, Pa., and Marion Francis of Uxbridge, Mass.; many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Thomas Drew; and brother of the late Paul Drew.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn, Mass. Visiting hours will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common, Mass. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Lynn, Mass.
