AUGUSTA, Maine — Heating oil prices are continuing to climb in Maine, going up an average of 2 cents a gallon in the past week.
Maine’s energy office said Tuesday the statewide average price of No. 2 heating oil was $3.70 gallon. The lowest prices are in southwestern Maine and the highest are in the northern part of the state. The 2-cent increase follows a rise of 11 cents per gallon two weeks ago.
Ken Fletcher, director of Maine’s Office of Energy Independence and Security, said federal energy officials are now estimating that average household heating oil expenditures in the Northeast will go up 4 percent this winter — down from the 8-percent increase that was being predicted in October.
Well of course! Temperature goes down,price of oil goes up! Crooks!

According to the EPA’s National Emission Inventory, Chevron was responsible for 4,030,422.95 pounds of green house gas emission pollution in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana in 2002.
Chevron was the first international oil company to operate in Nigeria and has, for almost 40 years of operations there, practiced the wasteful process of burning off of gas associated with oil drilling.
This gas flaring has resulted in the flaring of billions of cubic feet of natural gas. These flares have and are wrecking havoc on the air and water quality in the Niger Delta. Communities living near the flares are suffering from a myriad of health issues and are more likely to get cancer and suffer from asthma as a result of breathing flare smoke. Many flares have been burning for over 20 years and in locations only a few hundred yards from the center of the nearest village.

I’m waiting for torrefied wood pellets. Unlike the currently available wood pellets, they’re hydrophobic so you don’t have them absorbing moisture in storage. The more moisture they absorb the lower the BTU content, so you may not be saving all that you think you are.
The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves they have ruined the State of Maine. We should all be on natural gas.
