SACO, Maine — Police have identified the utility worker who fell to his death while working on an electrical tower in Saco.
Authorities say 44-year-old John Plante of Oakland fell about 55 feet on Monday afternoon.
He died at Maine Medical Center.
Plante was working on a pole that is part of a Central Maine Power Co. upgrade in the area. Plante worked for a subcontractor.
Plante was wearing safety gear and the cause of the fall remains under investigation, but police say the death does not appear suspicious.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is also investigating.
