MILLINOCKET and FLORENCE, Ore. – Dr. Kenneth M. Morrison, 65, passed away Jan. 7, 2012, at his home in Florence, Ore. Ken was born Nov. 22, 1946, in Skowhegan, to Kenneth and Lucille Morrison.
He grew up in Millinocket and received his doctorate from the University of Maine, Orono, in 1975. He taught Indian history and religious studies at University of California, Los Angeles and Arizona State University. Ken had written two books and received several teaching awards, including a Professor of the Year Award in 2001. He was well loved by his students, friends and family, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ken is survived by his stepfather, Percy Stewart; sisters, Linda Ippoliti and Joanne Crocker; brothers, Dan Morrison and John Stewart; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in the summer in Madison.
