CORINNA – Anna V. Bailey, 82, died Jan. 20, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 19, 1929, in Haverhill, N.H., a daughter of Charles and Gladys (Carr) Downing.
On May 27, 1950, she married Arthur Bailey. She had been employed by Amos Abbott and Co., Snowflake Canning Co., Eastland Woolen Mill and Guilford Industries. She enjoyed playing card games and cooking for her family.
Anna is survived by three sons, Arthur Bailey Jr. of Etna, Charlie and wife, Janet Bailey, of Dexter and Kevin and wife, Lynn Bailey, of Corinna; a daughter, Ann Marie (Bailey) Gustin of Hartland; a brother, Ivon Downing of New Hampshire; two sisters and their husbands, Jessie and Harold Graves of California and Myrtle and Bruce Cole of New York; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter, Brooke Snide;
several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Winnifred (Farnham) Bailey of Dexter.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Bailey Sr., in 2003; a son, David; and a sister, Joyce Arnold.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Leonard Reiss officiating.
