BROOKS and MERCED, Calif. – Randy Wildes, 56, a resident of Merced, Calif., for 24 years, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. He was born May 10, 1955, in Bangor.

He was a graduate of Mount View High School, Thorndike, class of 1973. After graduation he went into the Air Force for the next four years. Randy worked at the Air National Guard in Fresno, Calif., for 33 years. He enjoyed growing a big garden every year, along with doing do-it-yourself projects around the house. He also enjoyed watching his favorite teams on TV, the New England Patriots, NY Yankees and Boston Celtics, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, of 35 years Beverly; sons, Joseph and girlfriend, Mena, of Campbell, Calif., and Daniel and wife, Rita; grandsons, Ashton and Peyton, all of Merced, Calif.; his mother, Margaret (Honey) Wildes; a brother, Alston and wife, Gwen, and their daughter, Kimberly and their son, Robbie and wife, Charlotte, and their daughter, Kristina and son, Jacob, all of Maine; a brother, Gene and wife, Louise, of Connecticut; and numerous family members on both sides of the family coast to coast. Randy was predeceased by his dad, Joseph Wildes; a sister, Joyce; grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

A memorial service was held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home, 901 West Main St., Merced, Calif. A memorial service will be held later in the spring at First Congregational Church, Brooks.
