BANGOR, Maine — Two men were arrested Tuesday night after they allegedly burglarized a vehicle on Saratoga Avenue, according to police.
Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said officers were dispatched to the scene after a homeowner heard a car door slam shut, went out to investigate and called police.
While Officer Jason Linkletter was gathering information, two officers from the Special Enforcement Team found Jarrod DiMario, 19, and Justin Amos, 19, both of Bangor, walking on Mount Hope Avenue, Edwards said.
A K-9 unit went to the scene and initiated a track. That helped Officer Rob Angelo find footprints in the mud allegedly belonging to the suspects, Edwards said.
The sergeant would not specify what was taken from the vehicle.
DiMario and Amos both were interviewed by police and subsequently arrested. They were charged with misdemeanor burglary to a motor vehicle and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where they remained Wednesday.

It’s cheaper to send them to trade school or prep school than jail. These goobers have no job skills and are products of our public school system. We can spend money now to recyle them , or bankrupt ourselves by locking them up. I’m not suggesting they are good guys, but our system is failed and continues to send more and more of them out onto the streets. Why can’t we figure this out. Lousy parents breed lousy kids.

That is the million dollar question. Our public schools need to be revamped, there is no question, but they can only do so much. A parent is the one that needs to teach the difference between right and wrong. Horrible parents have 18 hours a day to undo everything a school tries to teach in the 6 hours they have them.
