PORTLAND, Maine — Police are investigating the report of a dead body at Bayside Village on Marginal Way, according to Lt. Gary Rogers.

Rogers told the Bangor Daily News the deceased man is a 27-year-old who was in town visiting friends, and the death does not appear to be suspicious.

  1. Police found dead body…..Police are investigating the report of a dead body….so which is it? Did the police find it or are they investigating the report of a dead body made by someone else who found the body?  I am guessing the police were not the ones who found the dead body. The headline is likely wrong.

  2. The man was found by either his hosts (people who’s apartment he was currently visiting) or other guests of said hosts, and was probably a mix between binge drinking and either use of illegal drugs or  misuse of prescribed drugs. Unless of course he had a medical condition of some kind… That area of Portland– so close to the Old Port (where, sadly, a number of street drugs are undoubtedly possible to obtain) and other Portland hot spots just raises the number of possibilities for possible “non-suspicious” causes of death.
