WASHINGTON — Retiring Massachusetts congressman Barney Frank, a gay pioneer in Congress, plans to marry his longtime partner Jim Ready of Maine.

A spokesman for Frank confirmed Thursday that the congressman’s wedding will be in Massachusetts, but said no date had been set.

The Democrat announced last fall that he was retiring at the end of his 16th term.

  1. The stories the BDN chooses to put prominently on their online blog never cease to amaze me. This is a tabloid story, not worthy of the space it takes.

    1. He is a digusting career politician that got rich and decadent providing paybacks for union thugs and the Mass. hackerama. Good riddance to a monster that crippled America with Fannie and Freddie!

  2. Barney’s just trying to shake the graft tree one more time.  Since he’s not going to be in the House anymore, it’s time to cash in the chits.  What this amounts to is bribe payments disguised as ‘wedding gifts’.

    1. Their only likely offspring will be Mr. Ready’s pot plants in Maine; remember the ones that Bawney didn’t notice because he doesn’t know what it looks like?

  3. What happened to the Colombian boyfriend from a few years ago? Mr. Frank and his boyfriend went to Bogota to see the re-inaugaration of then President Alvaro Uribe. And the boyfriend before that? What happened to him? He was running a male-prostitution operation and when that was found out of course he had to disappear.

How many boyfriends-girlfriends or sex partners a grown man has is not a concern to me but I do find the use of the word longterm kind of funny.

  4. Surely Bishop Malone, who says so little about priests in Maine and elsewhere who molest(ed) children, will condemn Barney Frank, already damned by the Church for being Jewish.

  5. Is this the same guy who ran a gay prostitution ring out of Barneys apartment in Wasahington or is he the guy who made millions working at Fannie May, loose count Barney cheats on all his boy friends.

    1. His complete ineptness in politics was criminal, but not illegal.

I voted against him in all 16 elections, to no avail. The only good thing he did for my district was to help the New Bedford fishermen.

  6. Barny, will probably be the poster child for the gay, lesbian, movement about to hit our fine state again. They want equil rights, however we do not have the right to vote NO, and have them understand.
