LEBANON, Maine — A man is behind bars after police say he assaulted another man at a tavern early Friday.
Gilbert Perez, 27, of Moody allegedly beat another man unconscious at Trains Tavern in Lebanon, then fled the scene, according to a news release from York County Major William King.
When deputies arrived at the tavern they located the victim and witnesses provided a description of Perez’ vehicle.
Deputy Travis Jones discovered the vehicle about an hour and a half later, King said, and witnesses identified Perez as the assailant.
Perez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He is currently being held at the York County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
The victim was taken to Goodall Hospital in Sanford and later to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment.

This tough guy is 5 ft. 5 & 1/2 inches tall……who did he “beat unconscious”?? A midget??….Crazy….Sorry, edit to be politically correct to a “vertically challenged” individual……
little tuff men can pack a punch never underestimate size.
Absolutely…..sometimes the little guys are the best “scrappers”……and I’ve seen times when the “littler guy” gets a few punches in before the big goof realizes he’s in a fight and gets his hands out of his pockets…..
IS this the same Gilbert Perez wanted by US Marshall Service in Wakefield, NH. ??? Sure looks like him!
Well done, now lets hope they put this gang punk in prison for a couple of decades before he is deported.
Height is a little off. The Marshalls say he is 5′ 8″ but sure looks like the same guy and age is right. His picture has been updated to say captured.
