OXFORD, Maine — A casino slated to open later this year in western Maine now has a name and a logo.
The developers of the casino under construction in Oxford have named the facility the Oxford Casino. The casino logo features the name of the facility with a mountain peak symbol above the words to convey the image of a Maine lodge and outdoor recreational opportunities.
The Oxford Casino will open in late spring or early summer. It will have slot machines as well as poker, blackjack and other table games.
Maine voters approved the casino in a statewide referendum in 2010.

The Oxford Casino? That’s the best they could come up with? *sigh* How pedestrian.
Oh well, as long as it brings jobs and tourists, who cares what it’s called.
Ahh, we have found out where all the out of work rocket scientists went- they have become advertising whizzes! And the logo conveys outdoor recreation opportunities- such as blackjack, slots, etc ? Must have a patio in the plans, huh? But, then again, these rocket scientists were well paid for all the deep thought that went into this brilliant revelation.
Whew! That decsion making process must have been exhausting to their creative talents ….
I hope they wern’t getting paid too much to develop the name and logo… WHEW!
