NEWPORT – Agnes L. Cookson, 78, died Feb. 4, 2012, at her residence. She was born April 30, 1933, in Stetson, a daughter of Ralph and Clara (Hutchinson) Easley.
She graduated from Newport High School, class of 1951.
She is survived by a son, Donald and wife, Kelly Cookson, of Enfield; daughter, Debbie and husband, Wayne Johnson, of Waupaca, Wis.; three brothers, William Easley of Washington, John Easley of Texas, and Roger and wife, Linda Easley, of North Berwick; four sisters and their husbands, Thelma and Paul Rennebu of Dexter, Cora and Bill Bush of West Virginia, Linda and Keith Fennelly of North Newport, and Francine and Peter Hickey of Dixmont; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Earl Cookson; baby brother, Raymond Easley; and grandson, Timothy Johnson.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Pastor Al Worden officiating. Spring committal services will be held in the Cookson family lot at Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Those who wish may leave written tributes at
