FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Patriots say there’s no finger-pointing after their Super Bowl loss, even if supermodel Gisele Bundchen won’t abide by that code.
The wife of New England quarterback Tom Brady was caught on camera complaining that dropped passes doomed the team to a 21-17 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday — the Patriots’ second loss in the NFL title game loss in five seasons.
Late in the game, usually dependable receiver Wes Welker dropped a pass that went off his hands; Aaron Hernandez and Deion Branch also had trouble coming up with catches. Bundchen was caught on video by TheInsider.com responding to a pro-Giants heckler after the game by saying, “My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.”
Brady was not available for comment on Monday, when the team flew back from Indianapolis and arrived at Gillette Stadium on buses. Asked if the team had any comment, Patriots spokesman Stacey James pursed his lips together and shook his head from side to side.
But defensive back James Ihedigbo says Welker was a big reason the Patriots made it to the Super Bowl, and he’s not to blame for the loss.
“You can’t point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season,” Ihedigbo said. “You win it as a team; you win it and lose it as a team. And we lost to a good football team.”

59 days until opening day.
59 days for what, the patriots to start training again and be losers like they are
Baseball. Chill out.
Oh im chilled, still enjoying my victory. Now its time for the red sox to lose
And what role did you play to earn the ability to call it “your” victory?
being a sore loser is one thing, but being a sore winner it pathetic
Truth.
you can say whatever you want about the Patriots .. but looser isnt one of them.
Agreed, and there’s thirty other teams in the league that wishes they could have at least played in the Superbowl, but the Patriots made it there again… so, a tear for loss, a cheer for the season, hope springs eternal, a new season, and yesterday is history. Like every fan of every team wishes, our Patriots assure a winning season even when they are building…. six months to go, who knows…, we will be back.
18 days, 12 hours and 10 minutes on the Nascar Countdown Clock…..2012 Daytona 500!!…..and, does anyone care what Gisele has to say about anything?? boogity, boogity, boogity…….
WOO HOO!!! I hear that!!
What does it say about which sport is bigger than when one hears the Daytona 500 called ‘The Super Bowl of Nascar’ but that you never hear the Super Bowl referred to as ‘The Daytona 500 of the NFL’?
Case closed.
I would guess you are trying to make a valid point based on my comment, but I fail to see the basis for your comment……”case closed”?? Too funny…….
Robert Kraft had a conversation with “Gronk” when he was spending time with the wrong kind of ladies. I wonder if Mrs. Brady will get that same attention.
omg so Giselle is just a winy baby like Tom Brady, looks like he is getting ready to cry in the photo
He is passionate about the game of football, that is a face that is disappointed in himself which he should not be. The Pats had a great run and I am proud to call myself a Pats fan and cannot wait to see what next year brings…
The Pats had a great season and have been a joy to watch the last 15 years. I doubt they are done with the draft picks they have. Being a Redskins fan, I would gladly trade team performance over this time. Congrats, Pats, and wish you continued success.
Going into next season the Patriots will be $20 million under the salary cap with 2 draft picks in each of the first 2 rounds.
For a team that just lost the Superbowl they have quite a bit going for them next year.
That’s IF they draft based on TALENT and not based on COST of said talent. As good of a season as they had they were deficient on defense and at wide receiver. They chose to go with youth on defense over more expensive veterans. Did it cost them the Super Bowl? One could argue it did. (I’d rather have James Sanders at safety than anyone they sent out there this year for instance).
It is also fair to criticize Belichick and his drafting abilities as many high round picks over the last few years are no longer with the team. They desperately need an edge pass rusher, “true” cornerbacks, and two legit wideouts. Ocho Stinko was a disaster and Branch is just a shell of his Super Bowl MVP year. Here’s hoping they draft well and plug in a few free agents to some key positions. The window is steadily closing on the Tom “Terrific” era. It’s time to reload with the best talent available for one or two more runs at a title.
“You can’t point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season,” Ihedigbo said. “You win it as a team; you win it and lose it as a team. And we lost to a good football team. You lost because you have Tom Brady and everyone thinks he is a amazing football player, well in all honesty he is not
ALL of your post Superbowl comments prove that you really don’t know much about football. We get it, you’re a Giants fan and happy. Congratulations! Are you really trying to say that you know better than a member of the team? Get real man!
You can think whatever you want with the rest of your wonderful patriots fan, it will be soon and sooner than you think before Brady is traded. Maybe in the next year or so.
“Off your rocker!” bump, bump, batta bump “Off your rocker!” (to the “Let’s go defense” chant)
If that is the case it is for the betterment of the team. He, Brady, has had a world class run and will forever be a hero in the eyes of true Patriot fans.
Oh and Jdub if the pats were great as you think they are, you might want to go visit them and tell them to get some sportmanship, bccause i find it very ignorant he would not come out (the coach) for last interview
Coaches are not required to talk to the Network TV crews after the game. They are required to attend the post game press conference, which he did. He is not the first, nor will he be the last, coach not to grant the network covering the game an immediate interview. In fact, it may have been a wise move on his part. I can imagine that he was upset directly after the game. When people are upset, they often say things that get them in trouble. He would easily have found himself being fined by the league if he said what he was really feeling.
Yes, I think the Patriots are great. Nothing will ever change that opinion in my mind. But guess what, they were beat (twice) by the Giants on the sports largest stage. So on those two occasions, there is no doubt in my mind the Giants were the better team. I am equally gracious in victory as in defeat. You on the other hand…
It is bad sportsmanship Jdub, really bad. Yes other teams do that too, but i have seen the patriots do it several times
for some time now I have been reading people make comments on a variety of web sites and on different topics of all kinds… but , by miles, your post, dkenzie, is the most ignorant of all those thosands that I have read over the years… by a mile… bordering on moronic
Bravo to you Sir!!
Bravo Bravo Paul. Enjoy it because the pats still are not as good as they all say, if they were they would have made that catch
If you knew what you were talking about, you would not refer to the entire team making a catch.
That’s only your opinion, everyone is entitled to theirs whether you like it or not.
You are right its my opinion, with probably 3500 patriots fans that think Brady is horrible too. Go to the patriots website on facebook read the comments some people are leaving. Kind of funny to read them , like most of the comments on here
sore losers…is all they are
No, he is not amazing he is world class and will be in the hall of fame by making and breaking more records that any other quarterback in history, that is beyond amazing
He has 3 rings that say you’re wrong d…
Gisele is just singing “Stand by your man” . . .
One hell of a game, IMO the single play that made a difference in the game was the fumble recovery that was nullified by the penalty of too many players. Of course it could have been because they had too many but we will never know.
The Pat’s will probably reinforce their defensive backfield and look for a young stud for defensive end.
Being an Eagles fan, I will give you Deshon Jackson to complement your receiver corp. That is if you can get that punk to play consistently.
I agree with you on that play being the turning point. That would have been HUGE if not for the boneheaded penalty!
I would not mind at all seeing Deshon Jackson on the Pats. Belichick has a long history of getting production out of perceived misfits, trouble makers and “has beens.” His worst level of success was with Ochocinco this year, but at least he wasn’t a trouble maker!
Tom Brady is arguably the best QB of the past 11 years. Weks Wesler is arguably one of the best tight ends in the last 7-8 years. Bill belichik is argubly the best coach of the last 11 years and without a doubt the best football team in the last 11 years are the New England Patriots. The Giants won the game fair and square, no funny calls, just hard work and determination by a far better football team than New England. Never count Tommy out, even with 57 seconds left and one timeout and 80 yards to go. He had the ball in the end zone as time expired. The better team won, even Chuck Noll could not beat the Broncos back in the 70’s, at least he did not have to meet them in the Super Bowl.
As a New Englander and obvious Pats fan I think it was a great game. Unfortunately someone wins and someone doesn’t. Also this a team sport not just offense or defense it is a combination of both. It was a very close and great game all the way around and the Giants just had the better game Sunday but our Pats also played a great game. 4 point difference means they both played very well. To have a 21-17 game means both teams had excellent defense and neither were successful for a blow out. Could have gone the other way with that Hail Mary at the end. The Pats have played great for the past several years and have won the conference championship more years than ever in the past so us fans need not drop our head in shame because win or lose they played several years in the Superbowl and as fans we just have to support them and say “Maybe next year.” Go Pats :)
There is some posts here from one guy that looks like all the childish comments made on the ESPN and NFL dot com boards, bashing Tom Brady and the Patriots but not really saying anything positive about the Giants, like how great Eli manning was when it counted or how Manningham made a great catch, or the 12 men on the field penalty by Coughlin that erased 9 seconds off the clock because the Patriots were possibly going into the end zone for a TD. I mean come on kenzie show a little class. Or maybe your still in class, 7th grade.
