BANGOR, Maine — Two police officers parked across the street from Barnaby’s night club on Odlin Road early Saturday watched as a woman in a purple shirt got out of a taxi and proceeded to punch another woman in the face, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

“Apparently they were both going for the same cab and words were exchanged,” the sergeant said.

Shannon Dejesus, 28, of Bangor got into the taxi about 1:20 a.m. but then got out and punched a 25-year-old woman from Guilford who was waiting for the next taxi, Edwards said.

Officers Chris Blanchard and David Farrar watched the assault and found the victim bleeding from the face. She refused medical treatment, the sergeant said.

Dejesus was arrested and charged with assault. She was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and later was released, Edwards said.

Dejesus was convicted of assault in July 2010 and ordered to pay a $300 fine, according to Bangor Daily News archives.

She also has convictions for disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license, the BDN archives state. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

  1. I don’t understand what some girls are about today. Nation wide, they (the 14-30 year old) are acting more and more like they have testosterone poisoning.

  2. Where do these women get their mean tempers and  think it’s  OK to punch  people?  There seems to be a lot of them around town.

    1. I just did mine half hour ago,  and DeJesus wouldn’t you know it,  it got alittle slick with me.  So I punched it right in the ice.

  3. Do you go there along with the other zillion people in Bangor for the past 20 years? If you do, great, I bet they love your busniess. If you don’t then what do you know? They must be doing something right the place is packed all the time. I am coming home next weekend and I plan to meet up with some friends there.

  4. Maybe she didn’t have the cab fare and wanted to be given a free ride.  Just didn’t realize that the ride was to jail.

That spot is such easy pickin’s, not much sport in it but keep roundin’ ’em up boys.
Thanks for keepin’ ’em off the streets.
Hey maybe a few more cabbies could hang out and pick up some fares?
