PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency spent Monday sifting through evidence in a suspected methamphetamine lab in Presque Isle, but no arrests had been made as of early evening.
Darrell Crandall, division commander of the MDEA, said Monday that the agency had been at a home on Sunrise Loop since the morning but did not secure a search warrant to enter the home until about 2 p.m.
According to Crandall, the Presque Isle Fire Department responded to a report of smoke at the house on Sunday night. By the time they got to the home the fire had been extinguished, but firefighters went inside as a precaution anyway.
“They saw some suspicious materials inside and called us,” said Crandall. “We responded and we’ve gathered some evidence. We have been questioning people but no one has been arrested at this point.”
The home is on land where the former Presque Isle Air Base once was located, near Northern Maine Community College.
The MDEA is being assisted by the Fire Department, the Presque Isle Police Department and the Department of Environmental Protection.

did aroostook brake a world record yet for meth lab bust
The county should be the perfect place for it, must be lots of it if they’ve busted this many!
That’s what I was thinking too, if they have found so many so far, how many have they not found?
you can smell meth labs all over why is it so so hard to find them, drive around bangor city and trailer parks let your nose do the work never mind the dogs the stuff stinks, and so do the people that come from them

Presque Isle is getting so sketchy
Its not just Presque Isle sout, time to wake up. Maine’s gradually bubbling and being infested with a degenerative and dependent population. Thats what happens when the educated leave for better jobs. Its too bad so many people rip on public workers, they are on the front line of this “sketchy” mess.
No jobs equal Meth Labs ! Nuff said !
The cost of the crap in society costs more in the end….
and just how far is this from the Middle School, Pre K Center and Daytime Adult Ed?
