OLD TOWN, Maine — An Old Town police officer charged a Medway man and an East Millinocket man with drug charges after looking into a complaint of suspicious activity about 9 a.m. last Thursday morning.
When the officer arrived, he found Ryan Petrin, 20, of Medway and 19-year-old Aaron Potvin of East Millinocket in a vehicle on Goldsmith Lane, a short street off Main Street, Old Town police Sgt. Scott Casey said late last week, citing an arrest report.
A subsequent search turned up evidence of drug activity, Casey said.
Petrin was arrested on drug possession charges after police found Xanax and a usable amount of marijuana on him, Casey said. Petrin was taken to Penobscot County Jail. He since has been released on bail.
Aaron Potvin, 19, of East Millinocket was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia, Casey said.

What a pair of fine upstanding citizens. Not!
Wow big time for old town police, but you can get high off taxpayers money at the methadone clinic for free then get your take home meds and sell them to highschool kids
The clinic is most likely where they came from. After getting free rides down in seperate cars courtesy of lynx drivers…..
you can’t get xanax from the methadone clinic, it’s actually considered a lethal mix with methadone from the FDA. and considering there DRIVING a car, i’m guessing they didn’t get a ride from lynx, not every drug user abuses the syestem, keep your ignorant comments to your self PLEASE
Enough do to make his comments statistically correct.
More “Scumbags” loose…
really?? scumbags?? MAYBE scumBAG, as in one, the second kid was only caught with a pot pipe or some type or marijuana paraphernalia, not by any means a scumbag… funny how people see pot as “bad” yet alcohol is seen as a “norm”… go figure, one kills people, and the other is given to sick people as medicine….
“second kid was only caught with a pot pipe or sometime type or marijuana paraphernalia, not by any means a scumbag”…Today, drug paraphernalia, tomorrow, enters the “revolving doors”!
Xanax isn’t that the same drug Whitney Houston used? I guess people turn a blind if one is a “super star” (I always hated that label.)
One of several
What were they doing that was so suspicious at 9am??? I bet if they looked like me they wouldn’t have been hassled!
what happened to the 4th amendment right against illegal search and seizures. what gave this police officer the right to search the vehicle?? pretty sure being lost isn’t probable cause, so what was??
