ENFIELD, Maine — State police investigating a robbery Sunday at Bridge Street Market released a description Tuesday of the man they believe is responsible and a video of the robbery as it occurred.
The man was described as white, about 6 feet tall, wearing a multicolored shirt and a knit cap with a blue and white bandanna across his face, state police said.
The man had his hands in his pockets when he entered the market at 36 Bridge St. at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday but pointed at the clerk demanding money before the clerk gave him cash from the register and he fled, state police have said. No gun was displayed.
State police interviewed several witnesses and are declining to say how much cash was stolen. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call state police at 866-2121.

She took forever to call the law, at least 15 seconds after. I would be on the phone with 911 immediately, even if he said he will shoot, not sure if he said that though
15 seconds didn’t matter. She was trying to alert the women working out back with the door wide open right by where he walked to escape. The cops didn’t show up for nearly 20 minutes after anyways so 15 seconds didn’t matter.
Hard to tell what you would do being in that situation. I know I would be scared to death and it may take me a few seconds to dial that number.
Really? You would have called quicker? Have you been threatened by somone who may or may not have a gun?
I have. It was in an Airman’s Club, on Guam. I was the cashier for the dining room. A guy came up to the counter and told me to give him all the money in the register. He had his hand in his pocket. I told him no, I wasn’t about to give him the money he said he had a gun. I repeated my comment and told him to get lost. He left the Club, went down the steet to the gas station, shot the attendent, and took the money from the register. The Air police brought him back and asked me if he had told me to give him money. My answer was, of course, yes. They told me I was very lucky and that the guy at the gas station was not. I would probably not tempt fate twice. And if I hadn’t been a dumb 20 year old, I probably wouldn’t have then. I’m glad the people at the store weren’t hurt.
OMG hope all is well!
Herb.
Gee think the guy standing there watching the whole thing go down could a picked up the phone right in front of him and dialed 911!! Really!! His total lack of concern that the dude might have a gun leads an intelligent person to believe HE KNEW HE DIDN’T!
The guy standing there can not move very quickly. He gets around on his two crutches and drags his body. So before you start rushing to judgement and making comments on a situation you probably know nothing about maybe you should get some facts!
just to add to that, I wouldnt pick up a cell phone in front a person who says they have a gun, sorry my life is a bit more important than any money, let the robber take what he wants and let me walk away with my life .
Why try to stop him? You throw a bottle and hit the back of the criminals’ head as he is leaving , your Maine criminal Justice sytsem would probably prosecute you for jail time and give the criminal a suspended sentence.
in reply to dkenzie, cant you tell she was scared to death. someone demanding money with his whole body covered and threatening to kill you and telling you not to reach for the phone. of course it took her time to call police. just hope your never in that situation to find out how you really would react. everyone has all the answers dont they when it doesnt involve themselves. as far as the guy standing there doing nothing you have no idea what his situation was either. they were told not to reach for the phone. were they suppose to risk their lives for money, come on get real!
This has to be the cheesiest robbery ever. Baldy sitting there sipping his joe. Cashier looks like she thought it was pretty funny. No one looks out the window for a plate number or car description. Keep a baseball bat under the counter. If and i doubt he had a gun you would be able to nail him in the head before he drew his gangsta weapon stuffed down his pants.
I said that same thing Bub and it got removed. Something fishy is going on with it, inside involvement probably
For your inforamtion: “Baldy” is a disabled man who uses 2 crutches and drags his legs along. He couldn’t move if he wanted to, the cashier had to be taken by ambulance after this ordeal to be checked for a heart attack – it was NOT a funny situation by any means, there was no vehicle or plate number to get – he came and left on foot (as she could see by the big bay windows beside her), and I’d like to see you in the same situation and see if you’d attack someone obviously way bigger then you with a bat if he threatened to have a gun!
she didnt look like she thought it was funny she was starting to cry. and a baseball bat? are you for real? a 5 ft.woman against a 6 ft man. he could have been on drugs, he could have really had a gun. but hey according to you it wasnt that serious. i happen to know the cashier and the “baldy”. and if you knew them you wouldnt be saying any of this. have some compassion for crying out loud. but like i said everyone knows exactly what they would if it was them. all you brave brave heroes out there.
Guartenteed all those “brave heros” would have P!$$ED their pants! All talk and no compassion for the grandmother, mother, daughter, aunt that was behind the counter with a heart condition and almost was sent into another heart attack from fear. That poor woman will be tramatized for life because of this lowlife drug addict who thinks everything thats rightfully not his is just for the taking. Get off your @$$ and get a job like everyone else.
thats right i go into that store all the time and she is the nicest most caring person i know. she did exactly what she was suppose to do give him what he wanted. she has a heart condition and was on the verge of having another one and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. this looser has caused her a job, fear, and trauma she will have with her forever. no one should ever judge what someone should do in any circumstance you dont know how you would ever react ourself.
We need to bring back the death penalty in Maine.and we need more deep dark holes devoid of human contact in our prison’s.
Some of the conservatives on here might say that because you have no job, and are a drain on their tax dollar, that there is a cavern with your name on it.
