FALMOUTH, Maine — The pastor of a non-denominational Christian church in Windham has been arrested on domestic violence charges.

Police say they were called to the Falmouth home of 57-year-old Kendall Libby at about 11 p.m. Sunday for a fight and determined probable cause to charge him with domestic assault on his wife.

She did not require medical treatment.

Libby was booked at the Cumberland County Jail and released on $150 cash bail.

Libby started the Grace Church congregation in 2009. It meets at Windham High School.

An associate pastor at the church declined comment on Libby’s arrest.

  1. I have a couple of questions. Why does the church meet at the high school? Is there not a seperation of church and state? Not that I am against religion in anyway, just asking.

    1. Well, the church is a non profit organization. Most non profit organizations can use the schools. In addition any revenue that is generated from using the school goes to help the school offer programs/ asssit families with needs/ pay for field trips – the list goes on.

      1. Well, there is the answer to a school funding problems. As a matter of fact, if DHHS would let churches use their facilities, addition funds would be made available!

        1. I don’t understand why ALL schools are not rented out during the summer to various groups, concerts, day camps and so on.

In addition many churches rent their buildings for organizations to use to help bring in money / bring in people on Sundays.

      2. So if the local Ku Klux Klan (a not for profit organization) wanted to use the school for their meetings, what would the answer be (not that I agree with their agenda)? What expense is incurred by the school district for the church use of the facility, ie lights, heat, etc.?

        1. It is up to each school to decide who and when a particular group will use the school. It is a way for schools to come up with more funding but usually they only charge a minimal fee to cover cost, and a bit extra. The fee is usually set by the school board and is more if the organization is a for profit organization.

  2.  Ephesians 5:25-26 (NKJV) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,” It is sad that this “pastor” brought this disgrace! The bible never teaches that a women is less than a man, for God created her out of the side of a man. Not from his foot to be walked on, not from his fist to be hit, and not from his back so she walks behind him. This man needs an education on how first to be a man and then how to love his wife. There is a plan set up by God how home leadership should be set up. 1 Corinthians 11:3 (NKJV) But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. As my mother taught me any man that would hit a woman is NOT a man.   God is Love.

  3. Way to go “Pastor.”  Here we are living in the end times, and you help the Christian cause out by showing the world how NOT to be a good Christian. Thanks, for the help there bud. You should have you license revoked.
