STACYVILLE – Leonard M. Pineau, 80, passed away Feb. 12, 2012, at a Portland hospital, after a massive stroke, from which he never recovered. Leonard, the last surviving member of his very large family, was raised in Millinocket during his childhood years on Elm Street.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until his discharge in 1954. Leonard worked for Great Northern Paper for 39 years, retiring in 1987. He lived and retired on his farm on the Siberia Road, Stacyville, for 46 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and many happy hours of just being relaxed, drinking in the beauty of nature and the view of Mount Katahdin from his rustic, beautiful old farm.
He leaves behind his spouse, June King Pineau; a son, Mark; a grandson, Jake E.; many special nieces and nephews; a special friend, Paul Smallwood; and favorite sister-in-law, Judy King Ingersoll.
At Leonard’s request, there will be no viewing. There will be a private family memorial in the spring. Cremation arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Messages of condolence may be expressed at
