EDDINGTON – Wesley R. Carter Sr., 82, of Davis Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1929, in Bangor, the son of Elmer and Lelia (Antone) Carter.

Wes attended Bangor area schools and had worked for Bath Iron Works and Maine Central Railroad. He also did welding and steel fabrication for Bancroft and Martin, and was owner of Northeast Welding Co. and Penobscot Welding Co. His greatest love was hunting, fishing, gardening, and working on his home and camps.

He is survived by his wife, Bethany A. Welch Carter; his children, Cheri White, Richard Carter, Wesley Carter Jr., Marie Carter, Georgena Contois, James Beal and Carolyn Doherty; his grandchildren, Richard Carter, Ryan Carter, Wesley Carter III and Daniel Haskell; and a sister, Geneva Peters.

There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will be announced in the spring. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to New Hope Hospice, P.O.
