MADAWASKA – Germaine M. Michaud, 82, passed away peacefully Feb. 16, 2012, at her residence, with her family by her side. She was born May 9, 1929, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Octave and Delaise (Dubois) Castonguay.

Germaine was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She had a love for all people and was always willing to give. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family and she will be missed by her dog, Dixie. She worked 33 years at Highview Manor as a housekeeper.

Germaine is survived by five daughters, Marie Mai Bosse and her husband, Gerald, of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Claudette Michaud, Florence Towers and her companion, Chanel Cyr, Michelle Russell and her husband, Robert, all of Madawaska, and Pauline Raymond and her companion, Rival Boucher, of Edmundston, New Brunswick; two sons, Paul Michaud and his wife, Nancy, and Clement Michaud and his wife, Laurie Ann, all of Madawaska; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Michaud, in 2008; and siblings, Wilfred, Alcide, Arthur, Geraldine, Carmen and Albertine.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Lajoie Funeral Home. Spring interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
