BANGOR, Maine — Medomak Valley shot 57 percent from the floor in the second half Friday night while pulling away for a 65-39 Eastern Maine Class B boys basketball quarterfinal victory over Oceanside of Rockland at the Bangor Auditorium.

The second-seeded Panthers beat the No. 10 Mariners for the third time this season, but this time by the largest margin.

Medomak Valley (17-2) advances to face No. 3 Gardiner (17-2) in Wednesday’s 2:05 p.m. semifinal.

Oceanside finishes the season at 12-8.

Six-foot-seven center John Murray paced coach Nick DePatsy’s Panthers with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Greenrose tossed in 18 points and Ryan Ripley contributed six poitns and 10 rebounds.

Medomak Valley outrebounded Oceanside by a commanding 39-23 margin.

The Mariners of coach Matt Breen were led by Shea Davenport, who posted nine points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Alex Wallace added nine points and Sam Meklin chipped in with five points and four blocks for Oceanside, which blocked eight shots.
