BANGOR, Maine — A 23-year-old man who saw someone breaking into his vehicle Saturday night on Fourteenth Street chased the culprit down and caught him, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.
Officer Joe Baillargeon was dispatched to the scene at about 9 p.m. and was told the victim was chasing the suspect up Stone Street. Screaming and yelling on nearby Ohio Street led Baillargeon to where the victim had caught Christopher Beayon, 20, of Kenduskeag.
“The victim was holding the suspect by the shirt and holding up two video games that he claimed he took from the suspect when he apprehended him,” Edwards said.
Beayon, who was wanted by police, was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, theft and on two outstanding warrants.
He was arrested in December for criminal trespass after refusing to leave a Moosehead Boulevard residence, Edwards said at the time.
In the last year, Beayon, who recently resided in Hudson, has been convicted of burglary to a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, according to court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

I’m sure this fine upstanding young man was misunderstood. He found those games officer. Good for the young man that tracked this d. bag down. You have done a service to the community.
In light of the shooting in Hermon, and people like this gentlemen taking things into his own hands, some of these fine fellows now have another element to deal with-THE PUBLIC.
Agreed. It’s nice to see people stick up for themselves when and where appropriate. It sends a message.
Well said and absolutely agree…..
We have got to put our foot down. And if our judges don’t want to take responsibility and if they want to keep letting these people loose, then you know what, you’re going to have more vigilantism going on. You’re going to have a lot of problems in this community and in this world if they keep letting these guys out. It’s not getting better.
You say vigilantyism like its a bad thing! ;>)
Hey Chris, if you would of hit up some of your posse you could of scored some crystal meth and you could of outrun that sob citizen instead of getting caught again. I’m telling you man these folks will shoot ya! Oh and how’d ya get the blackeye dude?
