BANGOR, Maine — A woman with a history of assaults was charged with two felony domestic violence assaults last week after she reportedly injured two men at her apartment, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday.
Merry Carrigan, 50, was upset when her 63-year-old male roommate invited a 58-year-old friend over around 5 p.m. on Feb. 15 and threw a bag at the visitor, scratching him, the sergeant said.
“The roommate said she just became angry with him and wanted him out,” Edwards said.
After throwing the bag, Carrigan and her roommate struggled and his finger was injured, the sergeant said.
Even though the injuries were minor, “she was charged with two charges of felony domestic violence due to her prior convictions,” Edwards said.
Carrigan was convicted of assault, violating a protection order and violating condition of release in November 2002 while living in Hampden and was sentenced to 60 days in jail for each charge, suspended, and one year of probation, according to prior court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News. She also was convicted of disorderly conduct in August 2006 and ordered to pay a $500 fine, the BDN listings state.

FLORIDA — A young woman was left with severe brain damage and in a vegetative state after being tasered by a police officer.
Reduce the resistance of the body, or PH of your body through things like alcohol which reduces one’s resistance, it is possible for a taser to do bodily harm.
Someone once wanted to test their electrical resistance without their skin, cut themselves, put the electrodes in the wounds and died. I think it was in running for a Darwin award, if not won?
The case you mentioned though, seems to follow more the laws of motion rather than electrical theory. Either way……
She’s the motherly type.
Even in spite of prior charges, I think it is a stretch to call this a felony. The people on camera that beat up and killed a man down by the Seadog got nothing. Guess it is who you know.
those punks need to be arrested for murder…they all split the scene and got their stories together and then called lawyers. complete scumbags. i hope karma comes back to those punks and they get what they deserve. how can they sleep at night? maybe the bdn could do a where are they now story. scumbags
How Ironic with a name like *Merry*
Sugar and spice, and everything nice! lol.
How sad is this? Drugs, mental illness? What to do with all these sad folks? They all seem to be keeping the police force employed, which is a good thing!!This is why we need places like BMHI and AMHI. These people were better taken care of in places like this, than mainstreamed into group homes!! I’m all for group homes when people can reside together, but when they are that sick that they can’t get along/behave………..then I’m for institutions, otherwise these folks end up on the streets and trying to get into our homes for food and shelter. These sick folks need to be taken care of too.
Please feel free to let them into your home and support them.
she ain’t nothing but a … …
A picture of her every 3 years over the last 30 years would tell a better story than what was written here. Every one of these stamped out pieces tells us nothing. I wish the BDN could take several of these people and do some in depth reporting.
….
Maybe an upgrade to her living conditions?
