SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — South Portland police are investigating the robbery of a restaurant near the Maine Mall.
Authorities say one robber held an employee at the rear of the On The Border restaurant at about 10:45 p.m. on Monday while a second robber entered the building and ordered the manager to turn over money.
Both suspects fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.
One employee suffered minor injuries.
The suspects were described as white men in their 20s, both about 6-foot-1-inch, and wearing all black clothing and what appeared to be ski masks over their faces.
There have been no arrests.

Sounds like a little “Catch and release” is about to happen.
Maybe with the money they can buy a ticket: plane, train or automobile, and go to Florida. Why Florida? Have you never noticed that the state is a dead end? All you have to do it put up a fence lets say Jacksonville and walla! Where are they going to escape: Atlantic Ocean-sharks; the Everglades-snakes, crocs, or Gulf of Mexico=sharks, locals. With the guards that are on duty now could stand sholder to sholder to guard the fence. Make them live off the land and give them no rules, aka rob, rape, kill to their hearts content. You know I bet this would work however the politicans would not approve of such a plan because most of them would end up there……
Ha-Ever notice that a lot of people wanted for crimes in Aroostook county end up getting caught between Bangor and Portland? It’s like gee, they will never find me at this motel in Newport! I can even use my real name! I’m “downstate” (as they say in the county)!!!
Maybe we should send a flotilla of criminals to Cuba, just to get even…
They didn’t take any food with them- Must be Margarita’s loyalists.
People need to carry guns in there work place.Banks, drug store, resturants.Maine is on the move!
We will have to build new , bigger, stronger jails if this crime pace keeps up, or we can just let them out on bail and make more money off them when they violate their bail conditions on the next crime !
