MILLINOCKET – Millage “Milo” Kelly Jr., 52, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at home. He was born April 26, 1959, in Millinocket, the oldest son of Millage and Emily (Downs) Kelly Sr.
Millage had two true loves – his family and the outdoors.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and general outdoorsman. He was also known for his sense of humor and love of the practical joke. His desire to live life to the fullest rewarded him with many true friendships. Milo always had a warm hello and genuine goodbye for everyone. He grew up in Millinocket and graduated from Stearns High School with the class of 1977. He went to work for Great Northern Paper Co. and continued to work for the mill his entire career.
In addition to his mother of Millinocket, Milo is survived by his wife and best friend of 21 years, Beth (Yarberry) Kelly of Millinocket; two sons, Colby Kelly of Bristol, Conn., and Kurston Kelly of Bangor; sister, Joyce Santerre and her husband, Galen; a special brother, Lloyd Kelly and his significant loved one, Cathy Boyington, all of Millinocket; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by all his Boston friends who shared many great times outdoors; as well as his two canine kids, Oakie and Max.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will begin 1 p.m. with Deacon Danny Watson, presiding.
