AUBURN, Maine — Auburn police say they seized nearly $90,000 in drug proceeds as well as various drugs during an investigation at a city apartment.
Police say Nicholas Morrissette, 25, was arrested and charged with trafficking in drugs near a park.
He was released on $10,000 bail.
Police went to the apartment early Wednesday after interviewing someone who allegedly bought marijuana at the building.
Police found the cash as well as 136 grams of marijuana, 2.9 grams of crack cocaine and 59 Ecstasy pills.

Wow, 25 years old with $90,000 cash!! Crazy……
You really think thats all his money, he owes a good part of that to his dealer he wasnt the top dog here because he would have had alot more then that pocket change
The above photo pretty much sums up why we have a drug problem in our country, Maine and Bangor. This picture might even motivate a few unemployed to look into the field. Many 25 year olds haven’t even made 90k in their life let alone have it kicking around as pocket change. As long as there is a huge demand for drugs there will be profits to be made and people willing to take that risk.
A nice comment about the truth of this mess. Ain’t gonna change, just get worse as drugs permeate rural areas worse than the inner cities (I travel).
I don’t think I’ve seen $90,000.00 all in one place ever and I’m 62 years old. Selling drugs isn’t worth it though. It looks good but…. you take the chance of getting caught, going to jail, or worse, getting killed. Myself, I like living so, I’ve never thought about selling drugs that hurt a lot of people in more ways than one.
That’s because you’re likely an honest, decent citizen who respects the law and has a strong sense of moral and social responsibility. Good for you!
Damn ! Crime almost paid in a big way ! The almost parts is what should keep most people from knowing crime doesnt usually pay for a long time ! Its a gamble and unfortunately there are lots of people willing to gamble their freedom for money ! The trouble with selling drugs for a living is the people around you get jealous and then they become snitches !
Think this was this guys first transaction? This is probably no more than a couple weeks worth of dealing. He has probably made millions and that is what got him pinched. He’ll be out in 9 months and go right back to the old database of buyers and sellers then we get another game of cat and mouse. It sucks but it is reality. After this guy getting a taste of this much quick cash he would probably rather be in jail then flipping burgers or working some $10 hr job.
Im sure the $ 10,000 bail wasnt an issue im sure !
$90,000?? Why not quit selling drugs, continue to live off welfare supplemented by the extra cash – would have been good for about 10 years.
Great plan until the dopers start sampling their own wares.
$90,000.00??? Geez, the Governor needs to talk with this guy… He is really “Open for Business”!!
If only the state was getting “Sales Tax”….
And, they release this SCUMBAG on $10,000.00? Pocket change to him!
they released that kid who did the home invasion in hermon for $60
Will people ever get it through their heads that that was just the bailiff fee?
Drop in the bucket.
thats a lot of money this is a much bigger operation than it sounds like here so he will rat and give someone up.. do two months in jail and start all over by summers end.
…Do I see a chain and a collectible coin stuck in there?
should have bought some cheap property and buried a few mason jars dummy
The drug war is a total fraud, it is endless. 40 years and growing, what a welfare program.
