PRESQUE ISLE – Linda Jean Lavway, 62, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 17, 1949, in Presque Isle, daughter of Addis and Pauline (Brown) Flanagan.

She worked many years as a secretary, and most recently at Burrelle’s Clipping Service. Linda was a devoted mother, loved spending time with her daughter and the love of her life, her most prized possession, Jenny Jo. She enjoyed NASCAR, was an avid Tony Stewart fan and she loved to laugh. She was a kind, thoughtful, generous soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. She enjoyed bringing happiness to others. A kind loving heart is at rest, a soft gentle soul at peace. She was a dedicated mother and wife who spent her entire life devoted to her loved ones. She was also known for her genuine smile, warm and caring attitude, but most of all, her total devotion to Jenny.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Lavway of Presque Isle; daughter, Jenny Jo Chandler and her husband, Carter, of Mapleton; sister, Barbara Bartley of Mars Hill; brother-in-law, Kendall Lavway and his wife, Linda, of Mapleton; father-in-law, John Lavway and his wife, Rosemarie, of Washburn; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lavway of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews; four close friends, Carol Maynard, Linda Tilsley, Lisa Gamblin and Eloise Wood; and her cat, Tommy Boy, to whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her parents; infant brother, Teddy; and brothers-in-law, Jeffrey, Timothy and Terrance Lavway.

At the request of the family, a private memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, March 2, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Dorothy Matson officiating. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross St., Presque Isle, ME 04769. Online condolences may be expressed at
