SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A Cornville man has been arrested after police say he fired a single shot from a .22-caliber rifle through a car’s windshield while the driver was inside.
Alan Sipe, 22, was taken into custody following the incident around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Skowhegan Police Chief Michael Emmons said the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. Police say Tara Harrington was injured when she was pushed down the stairs by Sipe a short time before the shooting.
Two other women were outside the car when Sipe opened fire. No one was hurt.
The Morning Sentinel reports that Sipe is charged with aggravated reckless conduct with a firearm. He is being held on $25,000 cash bail.

Finally a reasonable bail amount!
Its about time!
What a nice guy. (sarcasm) He needs to be put in jail for a long tme.
Why is everyone so afraid of filing Attempted Murder charges, which is what this clearly was. It was sheer luck the bullet didn’t kill or at least wound her.
Thank you Regina. I was thinking the same thing as I read the story. As you pointed out that he took a shot at her. Don’t forget he tried to snap her neck by pushing her down the stairs. Domestic dispute, assault and violence carries a lesser charge and jail time than Attempted Murder. Despite the fact it was done to a partner should be made less of a crime. Trying to kill someone IS trying to kill someone, Period.
he needs to go to prison for a very long time, he has shown himself to be a reckless, abusive, and violent man.
Generally speaking, people like that don’t usually change.
lock him up and throw away the key.
I would guess it would be difficult to prove that he intended to kill her with his shot. That’s the only way you can prove attempted murder.
“$25,000 cash bail”… He might had seen “antlers” attached to the sides of the car, and he was “Hunting Dear”….
It’s about time the bail is better!
Yet another broken thread in the rural social fabric; we’ve got to start doing a better weaving job.
Luckily, .22LR rounds will not penetrate windshields.
Really?? sarcasm here
just a useless fact.
How were all these violent men in this state brought up, to be such beasts? There are so many domestic attacks on women. Are we back in the caveman days? Men seem to take out all their frustrations on the women in their lives, instead of peacefully solving their problems.
As if there aren’t violent men elswhere?
Of course there are, but in the BDN every day, it seems there are several articles about domestic violence.
Well, DUH…….oh forget it.
