WATERVILLE, Maine — An intoxicated Waterville man was arrested after he kicked in a door at a local dentist’s office and was found there only in his underwear, police said Friday.
Jared Hebert, 26, kicked in a door at a dentist’s office on Silver Street just before 11 p.m. Thursday, Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said.
A burglar alarm inside the office went off when the door was kicked in, and Officer Andrew McMullin was quick to respond.
Hebert “was standing there in nothing but his underwear,” Rumsey said. “They located at least one of his sneakers outside in the snow. His clothes were inside the dentist’s office.”
Police were concerned that Hebert was under the influence, so he was transported to MaineGeneral Hospital, where it was determined that he had a high blood alcohol level, Rumsey said.
After he was cleared by hospital personnel, Hebert was taken to the Waterville police station and charged with Class D criminal mischief and Class E criminal trespassing, Rumsey said. He was later released on $750 cash bail.
No items were taken from the dentist’s office, Rumsey said, and there was no damage aside from the door that was kicked in.

I wonder what is it about the over-use of drugs and alcohol that makes a lot of people want to remove their clothing. Seems like that detail is mentioned fairly often when the BDN reports these stories.
from what i hear, a lot of the ‘designer drugs’ out there (like bath salts, specifically) make the user experience hot flashes and need to remove their clothing to cool off.

I knew somebody who gave dental pain as an excuse for beating his girlfriend. It wasn’t all that booze and drugs they were doing. She married him but finally got the sense to leave him. I don’t know if he ever got his teeth fixed.

I love how booze is legal and marijuana is illegal. Raise your hand if you think he would have done this if he was stoned out instead of boozed up. But Marijuana is the dangerous drug, oh yes, very nasty bad.
